How does it work?
We use the Candela GenteLase red light laser to treat leg veins, and it works by targeting and destroying the dark pigment (Blue and purple) of the leg veins.
How many treatments will I need?
Leg veins vary significantly from person to person, but we generally reccommend at least two treatments to see significant results, although it's not uncommon to see results after one treatment.
Will there be any downtime?
The area that has been treated will redden immediately after treatment, and you may develop tiny blisters at the site of treatment. This is normal, and will subside in a few days or so. Bruisng may occur and usually lasts for less than 14 days.
Is treatment painful?
A slight stinging sensation best described as an elastic band flicking against the skin is commonly experienced during treatment. Pauses in treatment and the use of ice packs generally manage this sensation. Anaesthesia is usually not necessary. A cryogen spray cooling skin device will be used during the procedure to decrease discomfort and protect the skin.
